It switched from Tom and Merle without really a pause. The only thing I want to say is that I found it hard to follow who was talking at what time.

But when they do, it is a great scene to read. You get to know both men and how they get along before they jump into bed together. Tara builds their story slowly but it really works. He finds Tom a breathe of fresh air in his world of Hollywood. Merle is attracted to his looks but also his personality. When Tom saves Merle from being attacked they become friends. His friends know that he always tells the truth and that is what they love about him, he wasn’t jaded by his life. He is a hard worker and loves his animals. He comes across as slow but you will find he isn’t, just not very good at reading. You are not sure what to make of Tom at first. He thinks all he will ever be is an OK actor. Merle is a actor on a popular teeny bopper show but he wants more. This is sweet, heart-warming romance story about two opposites who find love and acceptance with each other. He is so naïve that you just want to put him in a bubble and protect him from the real world changing him.

The characters are both lovable from the start especially Tom. They are serious when they have to be but can also make you laugh and smile. I always enjoy the way she writes her characters. Tara writes her stories to make you smile. With lives this far apart, who’s really the fool of Main Beach? Merle knows the people who hold his future in their hands might love Tom-but they’ll never understand Merle and Tom together.

Then he meets Merle, the embodiment of dreams he barely knows he has. As unsophisticated and simple as an angel, he walks through life content with who he is and asking for very little except to care for his sister, Lily, and the dogs he loves. Everything’s looking up until a life-threatening encounter with some homophobes on Main Beach puts Merle face-to-face with a Sasquatch-sized hero in a pink puffer coat. Then he meets a famous director anxious to give him all he thinks he wants-and maybe a bit more. Merle Justice wants to reach for the stars, but it’s tough to get respect when playing a teenybopper vampire on TV.
